Handball players of the Buducnost T-Mobile won the Regional League, but after tonight in the final of the final tournament in the "Moraca" mastered the Austrian Hypo 30:29 (19:15). Podgorica club will, so, finish the season with four titles won, the first time in club history. In addition to the trophy in the Regional League, Buducnost won the Cup Winners' Cup, the title in Montenegro, where on Wednesday added the cup winner of Montenegro's Cup (finals with Biseri).
The third is a Croatian Podravka Vegeta, last year's winner, which is the match for third place beating Krim 36:32 (18:15).
For the triumph in the competition's Buducnost awarded with 12 thousand euros, Hypo has earned nine thousand, six Podravka, and Krim three thousand.
For the best player of the Regional League was elected Andrea Penezić, left back Podravka (it is the wish of the Buducnost, but moved to the Krim), top scorer in the ranks was Brazilian, Alessandra do Nasimento from HYPO with a total of 117 goals (with 20 goals was the top scorer in the final tournament), the best goalkeeper is from Krim Jelena Grubisic, and the best coach named Marta Bonn from Krim.
Final in front of small witness
And tonight in the "Moraca" never less audience at an international match, especially one that was decided on a cup. Just about 500 or more fan. The price of five euros per day program (two matches), obviously, is "rejected" those who would otherwise be in the hall tonight. Habit is a miracle, and Podgorica are not accustomed to pay to watch handball, even the top, which is always seen in the "Moraca", and last weekend. Was futile, and today's decision that the club entrance no charge, because many (most) they did not even know. And yesterday just over 60 tickets sold for the match with the krim and barely 300 spectators in the hall (the difference in the number of organized supporters and friends of the club with shared tickets) must be the lesson that such moves, if it is intended to be practice , as everywhere in Europe, made before the start of the season. Not at all during or at the finish the season, especially if it is a final for the cup, because the girls certainly need support from the stands. Fortunately, this evening is not reflected in the result ...
Deserved victory for the Buducnost
Buducnost handball every honor in the victory. They pulled the last atom of strength after a long season, and much, much more commitment on several fronts, including a representative selection. In the final against an experienced and highly qualified Hypo without Milena Knezevic, Gabriele Kindl and Lidija Horvat (yesterday it earned blow to the head), Adzic was again forced to combine, and the right wing and played Jovanka Radičević the edge, and pivot the Lazovic Suzana found in the middle and left forward. However, with Jovanka Radičević load the game presented the Sanela Knezović in goal, on the wings of Radmila Miljanic and Majda Mehmedovic, Ana Djokic on the line, and in forward line Marija Jovanovic, Ana Radovic and Katarina Bulatovic. Sonja Barjaktarović indeed, started the match, but after 20 minutes had on the bench because she was enrolled only one defense. Dragana Pecevska has played the last 12 minutes, a young Marina Vukcevic only a few minutes at the finish, but was able to remove sevenmeters.
n the first third of the game is mostly played goal for goal, and neither team had more than a two-goal advantage. Series 3-0 (Radičević, Miljanic, Jovanovic), Buducnost at the beginning of the 24th minutes led 15:12, a minute and a half before the break was end 19:14 for the Buducnost.
Hypo, however, is not survive, it is made clear that he came to Podgorica that welcomes the success of the national handball player, and already at 42 minute to reach the equalizing (22:22). To finish the game Buducnost is gaining, then losing that goal advantage. In 57th minute young Vukcevic at 29:27 defended 7meter to Brazilian do Nasimento, and it seemed that victory was already "locked". However, with few errors of Buducnost and attack Hypo back into the game, and the Austrians managed to equalize at 29:29, 40 seconds before the end, when Adzic called time-out.
The deal is dropped, forward line had a few added, to lose a few seconds, and then on wing give the ball to Jovanka Radičević, who earned 7meter (and leg injury), for 21 seconds before the end. Katarina Bulatovic was safe from penalties (as well as the entire evening), and Hypo-over and had no time for serious assault, so the celebration could begin.
Regional League winning trophy handed Mary Jovanović by the club president Predrag Boskovic, tonight in the role of Director of the Regional League.

Dragan Adzic, the coach of Buducnost T-Mobile:
- I am glad that the public had the opportunity to saw in Podgorica three teams that have won the Champions League. For us it was a great honor and opportunity to once again, at the end of the season, play with teams that are, like Krim and Hypo were better placed than us in the Champions League. We are in this tournament have been decimated, and the players that were on the ground that some of them are completely healthy. But all expressed character and, God willing, this will be the most successful season in club history. I'm happy for the girls, because of the audience and the club. I think we're on the right track, but only at the beginning of the trip. Before us is a lot of working together, seeking to our audience and Montenegro Handball bring many more victories, I hope the trophy, perhaps bigger than this.
Marija Jovanovic, captain of the Buducnost T-Mobile:
- At the end, we had a very successful season. I am thrilled that this award will adorn our showcases and I think we showed last time that we have the right team and that we continue to have a lot to show. When you act like today, when we all as one, I think that there is no opponent can not win. There are, of course, a lot of segments in which to progress, there is room for it, because we are a young team. Thanks to everyone who came, those who supported us and enjoyed the play handball and we had the honor to keep it here in Montenegro. I hope that they will in future be even more.

No real surprise in Bucharest, as Viborg HK of Denmark defeated Oltchim Valcea of Romania in front of 6,000 passionate spectators to win the EHF Champions League for the second consecutive time, and the third time in the last 5 years.
Despite heavy rain in Bucharest, the red and blue decorated Oltchim fans gathered hours before the game in Parcul Tineretului, a youth park for amusement, to sing their club’s anthems as they awaited a real handball spectacle in the return leg of the EHF Champions League final. The hall was filled to capacity, with the full house greeting the teams with great enthusiasm and a wall of sound from voices, drums, and air-horns.
Oltchim coach Radu Voina didn’t name pregnant Adina Fiera for the match – the 25 year-old left-back awaits twins. As a replacement 190 cm tall Ukrainian sniper Anastasiya Pidpalova was linked with left-winger Valentina Ardean-Elisei, who gave a comeback to the EHF Champions League after her injury.
In the early minutes, the Danes had some trouble in defence and the home team exploited those holes in the wall to make the better start. It took Viborg ten minutes to rearrange their defensive plan, then the teams were head to head again.
As soon as right back Grit Jurack entered the fray, the Romanian defence totally collapsed. From both her and Bojana Popovic on the left hand side many clear-cut shots came on target.
Very soon it became clear that Oltchim coach Radu Voina’s tactics to block or stop the back-court duo of his opponent would not be successful. His players tried to man-mark one of them, or both of them, but they often failed, and the duo scored half of the Danish goals in the match.
German Jurack, who, amazingly, was returning to handball just over two months after giving birth, was in top form, scoring 11 goals and being named as the best player of the match.
On the other side the Romanian back-court had it very difficult against the strong Danish defence. Voina’s players acted very tentatively in the first half, when passes didn’t work-out, and Pidpalova and her team mates often lost the ball.
Viborg quickly ran successful counter-attacks, so that in the second half, Vestergaard’s girls were already leading by a margin of 4 goals, being 11 goals on aggregate. Despite the big gap between the two teams, the home spectators kept rooting for their team loudly, but the faces of the Oltchim players told everything: the game was out of control, and Viborg was the winner.
The Danish players however, seemed to get the scent of victory too early and were probably, in their heads, already lifting the Champions League trophy. Their concentration levels dropped, Oltchim recognised this, and went all-out for a dramatic come-back. Seven minutes before the final whistle, the scores were at level, an exciting final phase began.
Voina’s team wanted to bid a nice farewell with a win, whilst Viborg wanted the double of winning home and away. It was a tight end phase, but with Bojana Popovic’s goal, Viborg deservedly won 32:31.
With Viborg’s successful defence of the Champions League title from last year, Danish dominance continued. Since 2003/2004 all CL titles have gone to Danish teams, except for season 2007/2008, when Zvezda Zvenigorod of Russia celebrated victory.
To crown the CL success story for the Scandinavians, Viborg’s Cristina Varzaru became top goal-scorer of the season with her 101 goals.
The Romanians still were proud of their second place and will start their next EHF Champions League mission armed with some reinforcements, and hope to bring home the trophy next time.
Comments:
Gorica Acimovic: “I’m extremely happy that we won. It’s my first time celebrating the EHF Champions League title after losing in the final with Hypo-NÖ in 2008. I can’t describe how great I feel now. I think the difference was seen in both our defensive and attacking game plans. Right now we’re just superior to other clubs. We know each other very well in the team and that makes it easy to play as a unit and win.”
Henriette Mikkelsen: “It’s a fantastic feeling to celebrate after such a victory in Bucharest. The EHF Champions League is the highest-ranked tournament for clubs and finally we achieved our target to win it again after such a hard season.”
Radu Voina, coach of Oltchim Valcea: “That’s sport, sometimes you win - sometimes you lose. Today we feel very sad about losing the final, but we have to admit that we faced a strong team. We wanted to show that we’re better than in the lost game in Denmark. The Danes have lots of experience of playing in finals, whereas we don’t. I hope that next year we’ll have the chance to play in the final again, but with a different outcome.”
Narcisa Lecusanu, who is retiring at the end of the season: “Too bad we couldn’t get a better result in front of our fantastic spectators. Congratulations to Viborg. They fought bravely and, all-in-all, they deservedly won the EHF Champions League. With regard to my future, I’ve reached an age where I feel I should retire. I’m very glad that I’ve been a part of this highly professional club, Oltchim Valcea, but now it’s time to say farewell.”
